Re: tq coverter problem or valve body

It has something to do with not enough fluid pressure at that RPM to keep it in OD. The fix is a built valve body like John Wood builds.

I am interested in hearing from others on this.

Re: tq coverter problem or valve body

The chip might also have the up and down shift points too close. If it looses speed after the shift due to insufficient power, then it will downshift. You'll want to talk to your programmer about the up AND down shift points.

Go ARMY!

Re: tq coverter problem or valve body

Has this always happened? Tranny fluid at the proper level? How many miles on fluid? Check oil first. Remove your chip and see if the problem goes away.

The shift point can be changed based on the TP and MPH and other parameters (ECU code dependant). They can be perfect at 3.8v and not so perfect at lower positions. The upshift and down shift are controlled by different tables and can have the low TP up/down points too close to each other and the computer is trying to provide instructions to up shift and down shift at the same time. Have your programmer check these for you.
