Has anyone heard of this Mod\Change

Just Read online about someone changeing ther Trans pan and filter on the 2003-2007 SD 5R110 with the Pan and Filter from a 2008 SD...they mention the filter is a diff style, full flow pleated design vs screen design on the 03-07. Didnt know if anyone has done this and is it legit? Is there a diff and is it better?

thoughts?

Sean

Re: Has anyone heard of this Mod\Change

If you have the inline filter on the passenger side by the radiator, the filter in the pan is only a screen that protects from large failures. the filter by the radiator is a fine micron count. If you have this style just leave it.

Yes, I've heard of it. In my opinion it's a good change.

The newer internal filter is at least as good as the bypass filter on the older transmissions. the newer filter filters 100% of the flow, while the bypass filters between 1% and 10% of what's going through the converter, which is not all of the flow.
