Auto Trans. problems

2003 F250 Superduty 7.3 OD light blinking doesn't want to shift from 1st to 2nd. Haven't had codes read yet afraid to drive to far. Could it be the shift solenoid ?

Re: Auto Trans. problems

It could be. Without the codes nobody knows.

Re: Auto Trans. problems

Will it manually shift if not you can read codes my best experience is hooking a pressure gauge up to the port on the side of the trans and seeing what you have! Little history of burnt fluid or slipping could help us also tell you if it's bad solenoids or burnt up clutches... But those soleniods imo go out because of the metal fibers in burnt up steels and fractions kinda a hint most of the time things are getting a little loose!!
