Question Temp gauge for ZF5...?

Since I have done the manual trans swap I have the e40d temp gauge sitting in my pod still. Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has temp gauge on their ZF5/ZF6? Is it worth while or totally unecassary?

Yeah, I figured that too, but since it is already there and wired up I figured I may use it... proly end up taking it out and getting fuel pressure. Thanks.

Re: Temp gauge for ZF5...?

I know this is a OLD thread but I wanted to add my two cents, lol . I just swapped to a ZF6 manual and like you I still had the temp gauge and was curious what kind of temps the manual actually produced. I had added a external tranny filter that had an extra in and out port so I got a brass reducer and installed it. It works great! Its right in the path of the hot fluid coming into the filter, then from the filter to the cooler and then back to the tranny. On a 99* day cruising at 60mph it took it a while but it finally got up to 150*. Pulled a couple mowers around yesterday and temp still never got over 150* so I guess thats the normal. Like I said just my .03 worth.
