2001 F 250 Trans. cooler location

I would like to install a larger trans. cooler like the 6.0 cooler. I started crawling around looking for a place to install my remote filter and noticed the trans. cooler lines going into the radiator. Is it possible the only cooling I have is the heat exchanger in the radiator ?

It left the factory with a cooler in the radiator and an air to oil cooler, too.

One of the lines from the radiator goes to the front of the trans. The other goes to the air to oil cooler. You should replace this cooler with a 6.0L cooler. The new cooler will even bolt to the mounts holding the current cooler.

That is the part that confuses me, both lines enter the radiator. Does the return line from the front cooler just pass thru the radiator ?

The flow is from the front of the trans to the radiator, then to the air to oil cooler, then back to the rear of the transmission.
