what else do I need to do?

I have an 03 X 4x4 w/7.3 and 4r100. It currently has 103,xxx miles on it and no tranny issues yet. I want to be proactive and prolong my tranny life as much as possible. I have acquired a low mileage ATS triple disc billet TC and a 6.0 cooler. When I install these, what else could be done? What fliud do you guys recommend? Any input is greatly appreciated. BTW, my camper (loaded for camping is around 10k).

2003 Ford Excursion Limited w/7.3 (last of the good ones)
Edge Evolution II (gauges only)

Bilsteins, Hellwig rear sway

Might try a sonnax/tricumulator kit.

Re: what else do I need to do?

DI does.

You can also put the Sonnax valves/spools in the accum. VB while you have it out.

Re: what else do I need to do?

install a transgo tugger kit while the trans is out for the new tc.

also I'd get off the juice and run some good tunes with better tc lockup.

Re: what else do I need to do?

thanks dysfunctional....off the Juice but going with the EVO II...dont want a bunch of gauges up on the A-pillar. May try this set-up for a while and if it doesnt work out, then I may get a tune and an Edge Insight for my gauges. What does this Tugger kit do?

The tugger kit has parts to rework the valve bodies, improve shifting and increase pressures so you can use 2nd and 1st to safely decel without burning anything up. Also modifies the pump and you replace a couple troublesome snap rings. If you are dropping the trans... it'd be worth it IMO. I paid a little over $100 for mine. It's not the end all fix, but packs a lot of bang for the buck. Score an ATSG manual for the e4od/4r100 and you should be good to go.

I pull about 10-12k lb with my truck, I have a dp tuner f5 40-120hp... my truck works very nice for a "tow bitch"
