Drilling plate for shift kit..

How difficult is it? I am thinking about drilling my 4th gear hole a little larger, the shift seems like it could be a little firmer going into O/D. Just the valve body has to come out, correct? I'm just nervous about dropping those little check balls

The accumulator valve body has to come off and u drill out the plate. Who did the tranny? U might get john to add some more line pressure on that shift also. Its not that hard to do(just messed with mine last week).

Re: Drilling plate for shift kit..

I was just there getting live tuned. This is on drag 3 b. We put more time into the "new" race tune rather than this. With O/D off, and rolling on, its about 56 psi boost, and then once its in 4th the gauge is pegged. I cant remember if it was making that before or not, or if this has had an effect on it.

I had a local guy do the transmission, Mass Diesel (Scott Houvey). Jon said he knows of him. Temps seem to be still OK. beating the snot out of it it gets to around 160. Everything else is good.

Remember when you put the accumulator body back on. Torque it to 80-100 inch pounds. Work from the center out.
