4R100 problems

So ever since i got the truck the trans hasn't shift good with my chip, no idea what kinda chip. The other day i changed the fluid and filter and it helped my trans was shifting better. last night i was beatin on it and got on the freeway 6th setting and in overdrive and it never shifted in to high gear it stayed in 3rd. Today i was going to hook up a manual TC lock up switch but i'm color blind and think i scotch blocked the wrong wire. when i finished everything up i went to test it and 1st gear was slipping real bad. OD light started flashing so i went back took it all apart and now the light is still flashing....anyone have any suggestions? its still slipping even though everything back to stock. Fords closed and i don't know anyone around here with AE
Help! trucks in my Sig

Re: 4R100 problems

I would find out what chip is in it. More than likely it's the chip not the trans. Wiring the switch wrong I can't comment on. I let the tuner take care of that.

Re: 4R100 problems

I havn't had a problem with the chip till i did the TC lock up switch. i mean the trans didn't shift well but i never had the OD light come on. Even on the stock setting it slips so i don't think it has to do with the chip but correct me if i'm wrong i'm a newbie to the diesel world. Thanks for the input though!

Re: 4R100 problems

Being that you tapped into the possibly the wrong wire and the OD lamp is now flashing, the transmission controller is now in "limp in" and in 4th gear.
You need to test all of your fuses and the fuse that powers the shift solenoids may be blown. Get someone to scan it to get the code or codes. That may point you in the right direction.

Re: 4R100 problems

od lites flashing? over a 100k? now ya add a chip? i maybe wrong but no 3rd or 4th that time? bout bet ya can be buyn a trans. i could be wrong....the codes will give ya an idea. mine lost 4th and then it shot a hole in the case and had trans fluid everywhere.

P0750 Shift Solenoid A fault
P0755 Shift solenoid B fault
P0743 TCC System electrical fault
P1754 Coast clutch solenoid CKT fault
P0603 Internal control module KAM error
P0470 Exhaust pressure sensor CKT fault
