OD LIGHT FLASH????

I know there's quite a few threads on this already but I want the most up to date info I can find. So here it goes I am new owner of this 2000 f250 with the 7.3 and it has some issues here and there that I need to address before it can be driven brakes etc. I take it out for a quick drive and the OD light was flashing when I looked down. I drove it around came home and went to grab my code reader and when I got back it was off. The fluid is up there and smells good. I also noticed that when I first tried to get it out of its spot on a slight incline no bumps just incline I kind of had to lay on the throttle. (I am new to the diesel thing by the way) Is this normal?? Seems like when going down the road you could mat the thing and throttle really wouldn't pick it up for a second or two, kind of hesitates. Maybe thats a whole separate issues but then again maybe not. It has 155*** on it and a Ts 6 chip not sure if that would affect it. The shift linkage is also loose not too bad and it doesn't want to go into 1 gear maybe the alignment is off.

Any and all help is appreciated I really dont want to do a tranny.

Re: OD LIGHT FLASH????

Forgot to mention also the only other light that is on is the ABS dont think that has anything to do with it but not positive. It doesnt seem to shift hard either.

Re: OD LIGHT FLASH????

The ABS light may have something to do with it. You almost had your answer, but then you didn't check for codes. Do that and let us know what codes are stored in the computer's memory.

Re: OD LIGHT FLASH????

So I borrowed a reader and this is the LIST of codes that I found. I am just going to list them all because the one I feel could be irrelevant could be the winner. So here they are: PO541, P1670, PO478, P1298, PO380, PO603, F1784, PO500. This is depressing

Re: OD LIGHT FLASH????

The P0500 is most likely the problem. That is a vehicle speed problem.
