E40D Transmission Upgrades ??'s

What all is needed to upgrade a e40d inside to make it like a 4r100? Someone told me that the e40d's have some alluminium parts in itwhile the 4r100 has steel. Planetaries...etc?

My transmission is getting built and i want it to hold 400-450hp. Tugger kit, tripple disc convertor and good set of clutches / rebuild kit are what is planned so far.

Talk to the guys at Suncoast and I'm sure they can assist in answering that question.

Re: E40D Transmission Upgrades ??'s

I found a list of what I wanted on the Suncoast web site. Then went to a local shop and told them "this is what I want".

Ended up with a complete rebuild for $1000 less then suncoast.

I now have almost 80,000 miles on it and everything is still cherry.
