Need to upgrade trans cooler!

was wondering if a tru flo max add on will work as good as a 6.0 cooler.
i know its kinda a dead horse but i would like some advice from people with experience. of course $$ is always an issue.

Do you mean add on, as in addition to a stock 7.3 cooler?

i have an e40d that slips when heated up.i've heard the trans is on it's
way out.how can i check this?

95 f-450 regular cab auto trans..14ft flatbed

yea i guess the tru flo is put on with the stock cooler.

Just use the 6.0 cooler in place of the stock one.

The Tru Cool Max worked for me as an add on to the factory coolers. From what I can tell it is your choice, add the Tru Cool or replace existing with a 6.0.The reports on results seem to be about the same. The Tru Cool was VERY easy to add on though.

another question on this topic, are the excursion and sd 6.0 coolers the same?
also do you usually see higher trans temps with tunes over stock setting?

I have the Tru Max cooler, get the one rated for 40,000 gvw. 95+* and Im seeing a high of 150* trans temp. Dieselsite.com has them. I use it paralle(sp?) with the stock cooler.

is that unloaded temp, how about towing?
seems like the tru cool may be an easier and cheaper option.
im in michigan so its not super hilly but i double tow with my 5er and tow often in the winter.
