Auto to ZF6 Swap

Since the loss of 2nd gear in my tranny I am going to be doing an auto to ZF6 swap in my truck.

I have the tranny, pedals, flywheel, PCM and everything else I might need coming from DI. David shot me one hell of a deal that I cant pass up.

I am looking for sudgestions from people that have done this in the past.

Couple thing I am a little worried about it wiring. Not sure if it is all the same or what needs to be done. Another thing is the floor hump. I have been told 2 different things. One that you have to get the hump from a manual truck and that also you can just bang the floor hump with a hammer and make it fit.

So anyone with any help or info let me know. Thanks.

Good luck...that'll be a fun truck with a 6 speed.

Why do you want to swap to a 6 speed though?

Because he couldn't find a 7 speed for the right price.

LMFAO

Because I can swap out to a 6 speed with a good clutch for cheaper then a BTS and just as if not more reliable. And I have always wanted another manual since that is what I grew up with.

Re: Auto to ZF6 Swap

Try to get in touch with Charles, he did the manual to auto swap.

You may want to give Matt a call to see if any tuning has to change.

I've said that a lot in my '02. Especially up in the hills when my tranny couldn't decide what gear it wanted to be in. The next truck will most likely be a 6 speed. Only problem is it's tough to find a 6 speed lariat.

I was looking the other day and found a 01 F350 dually in Texas Crew Cab Lariat 6 speed. Very nice clean truck.

Found it on AutoTrader
