auto to zf 6spd

Need help!! i have a 97 7.3 4x4 with an automatic. im wanting to convert it to a 6spd. Is this possible and what do i have to change?

Very possible. I have done it to my 97 F350 4x2, and when I find time, I will convert my 95 F350CC 4X4, as I have all the parts.

In short, the swap is not for the faint of heart, and it would be best to have the donor vehicle next to your truck when you do the swap for all the little miscellaneous pieces.

Try a search, I think there are a few threads about this.

i have the pedal assembly and a few other things you will need pm if you are interested but yes havin a donor rig is the easiest

01 F250 cc 4x4 straight pipe, custom front and rear bumpers, 1 ton rear susp, flatbed, TS Chip, king ranch rims, 315 tires

I did my swap with out a donor truck and it want to bad.

1999.5 F-250 7.3l 4x4 6 spd Ported Heads, Head studs, valve springs, DI Push Rods, DI RR, 38R, Walbro fuel pump, 238cc Injectors from Nate @ Unlimited Diesel and Tuned by Matt @ Gearhead Automotive

how hard would a zf5-zf6 be? and is the final drive big enough to see milage gains

97 F250 5 speed w/homemade flatbed, diy intake muffler delete, empty emissions device, 10k, 3" dp, 5" tip.

I could be wrong but i think the final drive is the same. Only difference is the zf6 has a low gear.

I got everything i need to do the swap except for transfer case, and it should be here by the end of the week. Im taking a week off in october to complete this project..Only thing im worried about most is the wiring. I cant wait to get started!
