OD lock up?

is it possible to make the OD stay locked no matter what at highway speeds?this is on my 99 7.3...its awesome when in OD but if i keep my foot on it ...it jumps out and slowes me way down and RPMs go way up...what do u think?

Talk to David. he might be able to tune for that? Or maybe burn a file that you can use on the freeway that you flip to for it...

you can instal a toggle switch set-up with relays. hit the switch and lock the converter.

I never ran a tune that was ever unlocked in OD that I know of, had a switch and light, expect right when it shifted into OD.

What you are explaining is the tranny downshifting into drive, nothing to do with the converter.

The tuner can prevent it from downshifting after a certian rpm, that is what a dyno tune is. It keeps it from downshifting and putting a nice big shift spike in the graph.

so that TC lock up switch will stop it from coming out of OD?

No, it will just keep the TC locked, it can downshift into drive still locked. This is a violent event and should be avoided if possible.
