Need help, trans solenoid replacement

Quick question. Should the orange or whatever color plastic cover on the trans solenoid stay on the solenoid or should it be removed? Never done it before and trying to figure it out before I put it all together. The cover is on the solenoid in the trans right now that I am replacing, but I was having trouble with it so I just want to make sure? Thanks guys.

They stay on. Mine is yellow and when I had my tranny built the builder left that plastic cover on.

I was thinking it did since when they rebuilt mine they kept it on, but then again it was acting up so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't because they accidentally left it on. Thanks.
