need help with 2007 5r110

I have a long delay when putting in to gear forward and reverse!
I also have a issue with it sometimes when you put into gear it will go back to neutral for a couple seconds then go back into gear it is also forward and reverse..... shifts fine once is in gear goes down the road fine ....trying to figure out the best solution either fix this one or buy a new one!!!!
I have a superchips cortex tuner on it but still does it when returned to stock
Any help would be great
Thanks Nick

I think it is a sticking solenoid. How old is the ATF? Replacing the ATF and the external filter will sometimes fix this.

That will destroy your transmission. Type F hasn't been used since the late 70's. If you really used Type F, then you need a new transmission.

I also don't think Motorcraft has made a Type F since the late 70's.

Re: need help with 2007 5r110

If they did use type F, your trans is done.

If they used the correct fluid, replace the line pressure solenoid (PC-A) as well as solenoid E (low/reverse).
