clutch won't engage

well i put a new south bend con ofe in today. I got in it tonight to take it for a ride to see if it all worked and i went to start it in first gear it turned over and the clutch went forward. i started it in neutral and tried to put it in gear and nothin worked couldn't do it. Has anybody else ever had this problem. it's a brand new clutch everything back the same. by the way the clutch feels exactly the same as it used to no different i thought the slave might be out but that would mean soft pedal right?

Re: clutch won't engage

I just wrapped up a ConOFE install myself, and other than a little air still in the line, it engages and disengages just fine...

Only thing that comes to mind would be putting the clutch disc in backwards, if that's even possible--the raised area in the middle goes out towards the transmission.

Did you check to make sure all the fingers were at the same height, none of them got messed up?

Did you lube the throwout bearing hub just a tad?

Re: clutch won't engage

I figured it out we took the transmission back out this time had everything out in like 35 minutes. We got to lookin and i was thinkin the flywheel might need shimmed then i looked in the piolot bushing and there was a little ring. Well that ring was part of the old piolot bushin witch wouldn't let the throw out go clear up. I know dumb mistake i should have looked for it but i didn't i think it was stuck right on the end of the input shaft. But it all works now and i took brakes off and got new pads and rotars up front and a front right hub turns out i don't have abs i gotta take that hub back this morning and finish the right side hub this afternoon. It's been an expensive week
