Transmission Broke

yea i broke the dam transmission in the ol superduty. stock besides a shift kit to my knolledge. 223k miles. bought it at 130k.

just got done puting the fuel system in , dual hpops and tonight just finally got a insanity file / tune for the truck. my estimate around 500hp. got on it a couple times and truck pulled rear hard.....shifted decent.......then on my way home on bell island rd i eased into the throttle ( 3rd gear tc locked) and right when the turbo started to light....i heard a big snap - bang under the truck . the truck rolled for about a half a mile.....wouldnt move in any gear. i think i broke something inside possible shaft or tc???? no evidence of trans getting worse before it quit. trans code po743. i think thats the same code that always come up if i leave the tc lock up at low speeds. o well it only money....time to get a bts

Sounds to me like it could be the flywheel, see if this sounds familiar: https://powerstrokenation.com/forums/...ead.php?t=2358

Re: Transmission Broke

i dont think it is the fly wheel / flex plate....truck idles normal....no weird noises, starts fine........just no movement in any gears. the crazy thing is the fluid looks and smell ok to me.

i was lucky to get this amount of miles out of it...i have had a tuner on it since 140k. 180cc injectors at 190k then at 219k miles i upgraded to bb turbo and 230cc injectors...so shes definitlty due for a good trans

I don't see him snapping the output shaft in third gear.
Also if you can use a wrench build it yourself.

Re: Transmission Broke

I say at least take the inspection plate off and look at the TC/flywheel.

0743 is a TC code. Is your truck trying to move but lugging? Or does the engine rev up freely with no load?

A loud snap usually is not good either way.
