O/D light flashing-codes pulled

2002 f250 4x4 7.3
O/D light flashing, flashing starts as soon as it's put in gear.
Pulled codes
Po705
Po708
P1832
Trans range sensor codes.
Trans was rebuilt at 120k. Truck is currently at 225k.

Any help appreciated!

Re: O/D light flashing-codes pulled

My guess is that you have a bad transmission range sensor. It's the sensor located on the driver's side of the transmission, where the shift cable attaches. It is also possible that the sensor is fine and some of the wires to the sensor are damaged.

About $80 from Dealership. But you have to have a scanner to install it. Gotta "clock" it to read correct gear.

Re: O/D light flashing-codes pulled

Just looked under the truck. I see that someone ran 2 wires from the sensor pigtail up the the ECM bulkhead on the firewall. The connections are soldered. Previous problem I guess.

I cleaned and di-electric greased the 3 plugs up on fender well and the pigtail by trans.

Is it worth pulling the harness to inspect it? Or just find a replacement?

Cleaned connectors. Changed sensor. So far light is off.

No, you do not need a scanner to install a range sensor.

The trans has to be in neutral to install it. There is a mark on the inner rotating part that aligns with a mark on the TRS case when in neutral. If you align these it will be perfectly "clocked."
