dies in reverse

I have an early 99 that dies in reverse, it has a bully dog shift kit an ATS deep pan and a PI torque converter. If I don't have my chip in high idle when I shift into reverse the truck will lug and die. Any help would be appreciated.

99 F350 reg cab
238/80 inj.
diesel site CPRx fuel system
High pressure crossover
TN ball bearing charger
ARP studs
AFE stage 2 intake
DP tuner F5
4" down pipe
5" miter cut stacks
PI convertor,bullydog shift kit, deep pan
modded 17* by terminator

Low trans fluid or a loose/missing internal filter will cause this. So can worn internal seals or a worn pump.
