OVERDRIVE LIGHT

On our way home from indiana we went through some hills i had a 35' gooseneck trailer hauling a truck and a few fourwheelers and my overdrive light started flashing and it seemed to struggle to get up the hills more than it should. What is that light tryin to tell me

mine did the same going down the 1/8 mile and it threw a output shaft speed sensor

need some info on the truck. like what year? trans? motor all that stuff. more then likely it has thrown a code since it made the light flash, when my truck did that it started shifting hard and like it was all downhill when the trans fineally blew.

It usually means your TQ is on its way out. The flashing OD light means went into limp mode.

If its a 4r100 trans, prepare your wallet. Mine did the same thing back in 04 and Ford ended up replacing my trans and T.C..

The flashing OD light means a code was stored. You need a Ford specific scan tool to retrieve the code. Could be something simple or may be something major. No one here can tell you what it is with out the codes.
Ignoring it because the light quit flashing is a good way to get to buy a new transmission.

some other stuff not worth mentioning .

its a 99 7.3,stage 3 ats trans. 5 star t.c.
motor has stage II fullforce injectors, 38r and tuning

it also started shiftinglike absolute crap so we stoped at a truck stop for about a half an hr the rest of the way home we had no problems
