4r100 with 6.0 Converter

I am looking for a converter that won't smash my wallet and bankrupt me. So I emailed John Woods. I asked him for a 6.0 converter for my 7.3. He quoted me 750.00.

What I want to know is Is anyone running this set up and do they like it. I don't want to build the trans because its got 130k on it and has a lot of life left and I don't have any serious mods just want something that is triple disk and is lower stall.

Re: 4r100 with 6.0 Converter

O no doubt in my mind that John Woods makes an excellent product. Just was wondering how the truck drove and pulled with that converter vs the stock one. He said it has a lower stall and with that comes a different acting truck as it will lug at lower RPM.

Re: 4r100 with 6.0 Converter

Sorry guys. This is the private message I got from Banjo.

"Hey man I know its been a bit. Not sure if you saw my posts, the converter is nice. It lugs real solid, and I almost can feel that it has a lower stall. I'm happy with it"

Re: 4r100 with 6.0 Converter

A lower stall converter won't lower your highway RPM. Both the high and low stall converters should be locked at highway speeds so there will be ZERO slip on each converter.

If a new converter lowered your highway RPM it is because the old converter wasn't working and wouldn't lock.
