Trouble with my trans

Today my transmission started acting funny.
Example: Start truck, no OD light flashing, drive home from work, no OD light, go to put it in park, revs up to about 1500 and comes back down, OD light flashing now.
Turn truck off and back on...no OD light, put it in drive, put it in park, revs up again, OD light flashing...what gives?

I would/plan on getting the codes pulled, but I have to take off "the cure" first before they can troubleshoot it.
Just wondering if anyone has encountered this before. Thanks in advance.

Re: Trouble with my trans

OK got the codes pulled at the dealer.
P0720 OSS sensor circuit fault
He told me that this had nothing to do with the motor revving up though.
P1670 electronic feedback signal not detected
P0541 air intake heater-probably because it is gone-lol
P0470 exhaust back pressure??

quoted me $120 to fix the OSS sensor

Tell me what you guys think.
Thanks

Re: Trouble with my trans

Do have a shift kit installed, line pressure adjustments, and trans mods? sounds to me like a flow restriction, as if your tc is slow to unlock. what does the fluid look like, very dark?

Re: Trouble with my trans

No... fluid good (Amsoil) changed in October last year. Trans has not been above 180* since change and just got there in the last few days with the weather. The only trans mod I had was "the cure" but I took it off so I could get the codes pulled and no change to the way it is acting.

Re: Trouble with my trans

To be honest, and you likely wont like this, but my first step would be to return to a factory fluid, in your case, Ford Mercon V. In some cases, OEM fluid can make all the difference in a transmission. After that, check that the TCC lock-up switch is sending/recieving signals correctly. If possiable, drive the truck with an OBDII diagnostic scan tool, and monitor the transmissions lock-up status, input/output rpm's, and flow rates.
These tips may be outlandish, but these are the steps I would take if you brought your truck into the dealership I work at.

Re: Trouble with my trans

Ok...I am a little stumped on what to say.
When I said the service advisor told me that the sensor had nothing to do with the revving up, that was a DA move on him because I am positively certain that is the trouble. They absolutely are retarded up there. He was telling me that I had a O2 sensor on it and that was the reason for the EBP code..lol
Where is the "OSS sensor located" maybe that is a clearer question

Re: Trouble with my trans

The output shaft speed sensor is one the drivers side of the 4R100, almost centred on the side of the transmission case. It's a forward facing sensor, with four wires to it.
I could be wrong, as I am a transmission technician, at a Dodge dealer.

Re: Trouble with my trans

The OSS is on the rear of the trans at the top. It has two wires to it.
