E40D problem help!!

Just driving around today then On my way home truck wouldn't shift out of 1st and wouldn't pull up my driveway. Temp gauge said it was at 205* what could this be!!!

Start by checking the fluid level. Beyond that plan on a new trans. You will have to pull everything apart to find what broke. It could be anything from a bad torque converter, bad seal, bad solenoid, etc but many of those items take out everything else too.

It will move but I have to rev the engine up real high and it doesn't have the strength to make it up my driveway

It's done. You need either a rebuild or a new transmission.

I can get a rebuild kit for 300$ at autozone would it be worth it?

A 460 and a diesel have different rear face of block bolt patterns. A trans from a 460 won't bolt to a diesel.

So took my tranny to a repair shop, needs a rebuild. Going ahead and buying a bts stage 2
