Recommended Torque converter

All, I have my trany out and pulled the TC last night. I am wanting to upgrade slightly without breaking the bank. Can anyone recommend a mid upgrade converter for my 03 6.0/5R110. I did head studs and gaskets. And last weekend my trany was going forward in reverse. What is a good mid grade upgrade on the tranny as well. Thanks for your replies.

Re: Recommended Torque converter

PM wise guy. When i built my trans i spoke to him about converters. Use the red alto kit with the power pack direct drive and foward clutch kits, and the overhaul kit with molded pistons. Also replace as many solenoids as you can afford. Also invest in the trans go kit that has the heavy duty low/reverse one way clutch snap ring, new converter and main pressure regulating springs in the pump. It is cheap. I got all my stuff from PATC transmissions, the kit was VERY reasonable. I had to buy 250$ worth of tools from them to do the job and it was still under 1k$ with shipping. Not including T/C or solenoids though. Make sure the trans shop knows what to look for in these transmissions and set the clutch pack clearances properly. PM me if you havent brought the trans to the shop yet.

Re: Recommended Torque converter

Also if you can afford it, upgrade as much hard parts to the newer style as possible. They are stronger parts.
