ZF6 trans filter. What micron?

I'm fabricating up transmission cooler lines to install my ZF6 into my 1995. I'm look at at running it through a filter to keep the fluid clean.

My question is, there is a napa 1552 which is 20 micron, or 1553 which is 33.

I personally was thinking the 20 would be good? Any thoughts on that?.

Re: ZF6 trans filter. What micron?

Those pumps barely push much pressure at all, so you might not want to be too restrictive on the filter.

Another question to consider might be are you really working with pulling that much weight to warrant it? I understand the cooler is there from factory and all, but it's a) aluminum cased (good heat transfer) and b) manual
