95 powerstroke petal stick to floor...

The clutch petal stick on the floor when he is on it hard an tries to shift. Its a south bend 450 or 500hp clutch. We cant figure out what is going on here and we are thinking we may have to pull it back out and look the fingers over on it. Any other thoughts from you guys? Has anyone had this problem before?

Either your slave cylinder has leaked down or you didn't remove the helper spring from the clutch pedal. You can get a new pre-bled master-slave combo from your Ford dealer for a little over $100. Removal of the helper spring costs nothing.

What helper spring needs to be removed? My pedal did the same thing and now a new clutch is going in it today.

I believe they use the LUK plate on that clutch. It requires far less force to disengage than the Valeo plate does.

They recommend removing the helper spring when you install that clutch specifically for the reason of it's sticking to the floor.

On a superduty the spring is attached to the pedal arm and clutch pedal mount. It helps you push the clutch in. So removing it would lessen the chance that it would stick to the floor.

Might just give Peter a shout on Monday.
