Goofy Transmission

Well, something has gotta be up with my tranny... not exactly sure what though.

When driving, on occasion, my throttle will be extremely touchy, a few times I've heard that marblely gargley tc sound (not usually, just every once in a while) and sometimes the throttle will have a laggy feel to it. Just seems like the thing is posessed basically.

A couple of mornings pulling out for work, the check engine light went on briefly, but went away.

Oh, and the trans fluid when I checked the dipstick is just a hair darker than cherry....still has red to it.

For the most part, it seems fine.... but these fits it goes into are annoying.

Anybody got an idea?

Re: Goofy Transmission

Well if you're getting an sel I would think it's something other than your trans, especially if it's intermittent like that.

Do you have access to a scanner for stored codes?

Well, I don't know because the cel was a new thing....the other quirks were there prior to the light...which I haven't seen since.

Re: Goofy Transmission

You'll need to have the codes scanned. If the OD light on the shifter flashed it's powertrain related. If the dash check engine light flashed it's an engine related code.

Re: Goofy Transmission

Well, the thing is..... it's been doing this touchy throttle thing before a code ever popped up. I've never had the od light blink.

I've since turned my chip down to 80 and it's been alright...... I'll look into a code check when I get a chance. Some day I should just buy AE!

Re: Goofy Transmission

I have seen 1 other that could only use 80 setting. It was in a 2000 also. Try calling CS over at TS or the dealer. There might be an update for the chip.
