5r110 gets stuck in 3rd or2nd

trucks an 03, after I romp on it the next stop I come to and go to take off its like my truck gets stuck in third or maybe second, the tow haul light isn't flashing and the fluid is up and freshly changed about 5k ago, i'm currently running the looney tune and have been for three months or so, could it be a stuck solenoid or is it time for a new tranny? Please help me out

You are going to have to hook up a scanner that can see transmission data and see whats going on.

IDK if a SCT will work, but you want to see what the PCM is commanding the solenoids to do vs what the transmission is doing.

Ok I will try it,I also have a cheap scanner I got of the Matco truck that might do it I will check it out this weekend I've been easy on it and it hasn't done it.

If your lucky it has a code and you will know the problem area. I think you will find you have a problem with a shift solenoid.

Well no stored codes and I haven't got it to do it again I don't know what to think right now, nobody else has seen this even on a 6.4 truck?

What type of scanner did you use? alot of those "code readers" will mot work on these trucks. If that transmission stuck in a gear it should have a code in it.

I believe our trucks are doin the same thing. Mine is also an '03 and it's not tuned. But after I'm hard on it it don't want to shift unless you let out of the throttle and ease back into it. I just got the truck so idk if the tranny fluid has ever been changed, but the level is right. I haven't had a chance to hook it up to a scanner but if you figure out your problem let me know what's goin on. I'll do the same for you.
