John wood said I don't need vb

I have a 2001 f250. Truck itself is stock. The only thing I've done to it is put a 3 inch lift and put 315-70-17 bfgs. I just bought a 28ft weekend warrior decided to make tranny better n add more power. I called John wood and told him that I'm going to add a intake, exhaust and some type of chip/programmer. I told him I wanted to buy a valve body from him n he told I didnt need it n not to waste my money. He said I wasn't going to make enough power and the best upgrade would be a trucooler for tranny. I already bought 6.0 cooler. Oh yeah and he not tuning trucks any more. Hope this info helps someone.

The 6.0L cooler is better than the Trucool.

Why is that? I have a Trucool and my trans never gets above 154. Is the 6.0 going to keep it cooler or?

The 6.0L cooler has more heat rejection capacity. That means it can transfer more heat from the cooler to the air flowing over it.

I don't understand what is meant by

John said if trucooler is mounted right behind the grill its the first thing that gets air. Just common sense I guess. It's in front of everything.

Someone told me one time that a auto trans running to cool is almost as bad as to hot. I wonder if this is true and what the min recommended temp would be.

Re: John wood said I don't need vb

John Wood has previously said things about transmission coolers that weren't true. He probably isn't the best source of info on the subject.

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.
