Shift problems

I jus got a 2000 7.3 6 speed a couple months ago. I've driven manuals but I still had to get used to this one. I noticed that when I slowed to a dead stop then was shifting from neutral into first sometimes it would go in hard and "clunk" once it got in but it's not always. But if I shift into first before i completly stop and im barely moving it will usually go in fine. Also when shifting into second I have to be pretty much right at 1500rpm or it will grind going in. Also when im downshifting into second unless im going under 10mph it wont go in or grind and sometimes even when im going under 10 it will still grind. But i can push in the clutch going any speed and it will slide right into 3rd 4th and 5th. I never really thought too much about this stuff because i just figured I still wasnt used to it but i've been driving it for awhile and now im getting a bit nervous that there might be an issue and i want to find out if there is so i can fix the problem now before it gets worse. But if im doing something wrong and thats just how it's set up any input on avoiding it would be great. Thanks
