diagnosing bad convertor 7.3

been seeing poor fuel milage lately and noticing higher trans temps
it seems to me that the convertor stalls very high compared to other 7.3 trucks i have driven. i can pull it up close to 2k on the brakes before it starts to pull hard against them.
my truck has 201k on it and from what i know the trans has never been rebuilt
anyone with other methods for diagnosing a bad convertor
