toasted trans

I'm just glad it wasn't me that toasted it. One of our employees went on our delivery run today with my dads 2000 ext cab 2wd psd and came back with a truck that wont hardly go forward. The truck left with the chip in "stock" and came back in "tow" apparently he was playing with the little knob and figured out it would add a little hp. Alot of the route was stop and go in the city, so he must have been doing a little stop light drag racing with a nice sized gn trailer in tow. Needless to say, I'm not impressed with his driving skills and he wont ever drive one of our trucks again. This dude could fuk up an anvil in a sandbox....

Anyway its loaded on the trailer and headed to Jons in the morning (300 miles). He's gonna do his thing to the trans, throw in a nice converter and add a 6oh trans cooler while he's at it. 20k gross weight and Shortbus2 gets the honors of tow truck, i'll snap some pics it looks sweet with a trailer on it

Re: toasted trans

Well i picked the truck up Friday from Jon. It shifts great, not too firm not to hard and best of all no more slip. I forgot what it was like going from a crappy trans to a well built trans. It feels like I added another 50hp, the truck accelerates much better than before. He did basically a stock clutch rebuild with pump mods, tugger kit and one of his non billet triple disk converters. I didnt feel we needed a billet converter for a 2wd tow truck. Anyway, I highly recommend giving Jon a shout if you have any transmission problems!
