Mobil 1 Truck/SUV 5W 40??

A friend of mine that sells oil told me he is thinking of not carrying the Mobil 1 5W 40 diesel oil because the Mobile 1 Truck/SUV 5W 40 is the same thing and he is only going to carry that. He stated that the specs are the same.

Is this a true statement?

Thank You for the info Duratys.

I will pass this information on to him. Also I will not buy for my truck.

If he sells oil, he better become (and remain) aware that even the very highest quality oil that is not specifically diesel oil should NOT be run in a diesel engine.
