Transfer Flow Tanks

I am chasing down a miss in my 2002 F-550 Rollback. It has a transfer flow tank on it now as part of the upfitter package. Now for my question, does anyone know if the transferflow tank carry over the Ford parts...Like the mixing chamber with the screens that get clogged?

Re: Transfer Flow Tanks

No they don't.
All the tank does is to dump fuel into the main tank. The electrical system is mostly independant as well. It does take low voltage signals to trigger the the IC chip.

Re: Transfer Flow Tanks

This is tank that replaces the factory tank. Does that make a difference?

Re: Transfer Flow Tanks

If it is the Transfer Flo mid tank 34 Gallon then it uses the ford sender/pick up assembly.

My truck is 2001 F-550 with mid tank.

I dropped my tank last year do to a sender problem.

I called Transfer Flo and asked for the replacement part # for the assembly. At first they said it was there part # but they would have to call me back with price and availability.

When Transfer Flo called back they stated that it is the Ford sender assy. and they gave me the Ford Part #.

As it turned out, I was able to repair my problem and I did the In tank mod and pre-pump mod while I had the tank dropped.

I bought the in tank and pre pump kit from D.I.

Re: Transfer Flow Tanks

What classifies it as a mid tank? It is a rollback F-550 if that matters. 34gal sounds about right though. If it comes down to it, all I would have to do is just raise the bed and work on it.

Re: Transfer Flow Tanks

What I meant by mid tank is that the tank fill is close to the back of the truck cab, and the tank sits ahead of the rear differential.

Do you have a Transfer Flo sticker on the drivers door jamb? It will give you the model and size.

I would bet you have the same tank that mine has. It makes up fitting easier because of tank location.

Tilt your bed will make this a very easy job compared to dropping the tank. I would look into the in tank mod and pre pump mod while you have the sender out.
