Yes without a doubt. If you're making the switch I'd have the trans flushed with a machine. You'll need 20 to 25 qts to make the switch.

You can mix dino and fully syn but it degrades the syn fluid. Most good shops will do a fluid exchange for 70-100 bucks.

I changed over to Royal Purple when I had my BTS installed. Do it and never look back. Temps are down a bit also.

Re: synthtic tranny fluid worth it?

Why did you change to Royal Purple when BTS uses Schaeffer's Synthetic Tranny fluid in all his trannies? Just curious.

Synthetics will hold up to much higher temps, so if you tow alot it's definitely a good idea to change to synthetics IMO. Then instead of changing the synth tranny fluid at a set mileage interval send in a sample to an oil analysis lab like Schaeffer's ($9) or Blackstone Labs ($22) to determine when the fluid needs to be changed. I've seen used oil analysis reports on synthetic transmission fluids going a long, long, way.

Re: synthtic tranny fluid worth it?

Since I had the tranny shipped to me, they couldn’t ship it with fluid. I talk to Brain a few times and he told that he had use RP before and also like it.
Now for RP.....I have been around the strip a few time in the last 4-5 years and everywhere I turn people are swearing by RP....I had never used them before but after my buddies took his Powerglide apart for some upgrades, it show for it self.
