Diesel Kleen

anybody use it and is it worth buying? i have a 97 PowerStroke with 139,000 miles and was wondering if this stuff is ok or if i should use another additive. also, which 1 do you use in the winter and summer? they have a white and silver bottle so i figure there is a difference.

Re: Diesel Kleen

i use the stuff in the silver bottle. it is the summer blend, the white is for winter. It gives me about 8-10 percent mpg increase. Seems to give mine faster starts and a smoother idle. i also run it in 4 buses that i maintain for a local church group. Makes a big differance in those engines. one has the dt444e and the other three are 5.9 cummins. makes those buses start a lot better in the cold and make the run much smoother all year round imo.

Re: Diesel Kleen

What injection pumps or parts does Diesel Kleen make?

I prefer Stanadyne Performance formula...every tank in my F250 and in my MX240 ag tractor...we buy it in 5 gallon jugs!

Berryman used to make some good stuff but for reason they quit making it. I have been using the diesel clean and it seems to work fine.

Re: Diesel Kleen

I've used both the white and gray bottles and for me running the white bottle year round works best. I noticed a gain of about a mile per gallon running it. I've talked with two over the road truck drivers that use it in their trucks too.

Re: Diesel Kleen

I use the white. Mostly because I dont feellike switching between the two and I also but it by the case and the other is its he same thing with the white having an anti gel additive put into it. The both have the ceatane boost and slick diesel lubricant.

Definately quicker starts in the winter though.

Re: Diesel Kleen

I use the white bottle in the winter and the gray stuff in the summer. Works good for me. I also add 6oz of straight cetane (the ford stuff) and my 6.0 runs smooth and strong. The cetane level's in the fuel in my area are like 38. Not good. If I don't add anything it's like driving a different truck so I swear by the stuff..
