Re: Anti freeze smell in truck
I had a water pump failing for over 3 years where I could smell antifreeze but couldn't find a leak until one day I went out and saw a puddle under my truck.
As for the heater core or smelling antifreeze it has to be coming from somewhere, I don't know of anything else that smells like it. Sometimes if the leak is small enough it may corrode over and quit leaking and when you cleaned up what was left you don't smell it anymore which may be your case. But heater cores are cheap and not that hard to replace for a little peace of mind.
