Re: mercon v synthetic

Ford no longer offers a Mercon license. They say use Mercon V. Anyone who wants to make it can if they purchase the license from Ford and comply to the requirements.

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.

Re: mercon v synthetic

You have to take their word for it. They don't comply to any licensing requirement.

Re: mercon v synthetic

I use amsoil synthetic ATF. that is what my trans builder recommended. It complies with mercon V specifications.

Beginning immediately all manual transmission applications requiring MERCON can now be serviced using MERCON-V or MERCON Automatic Transmission Fluid or dual usage fluids labeled MERCON/MERCON-V. After July 1, 2007, MERCON Automatic Transmission Fluid will no longer be manufactured.

Amsoil Synth ATF meets Mercon V specs.

Now Mercon SP is a different animal. Labeled as MSP (Mercon SP) is not compatible with Mercon or synth Mercon. For which Year, Make & Model are you looking for?

OK, should have read your sig. You have a BTS 4R100 tranny. Brian used Schaeffer's #204SAT synthetic tranny fluid. You can call the 1-800# on the Schaeffer's website and ask for the closest sales rep to your zip code. Shoud run you about $125 for a 5 gallon bucket.

Or PM JTHarvey since you live in MO, he's a sales rep up there.
