Re: Prices going up

I've got fuel prices all over the board. One station has reg. at $1.59 and diesel for $1.98 and another 15 miles away has reg. for $1.65 and diesel for $2.14.
Oh and Exxon raked in a cool $45 BILLION dollars last year, breaking their own record. WTF???

Re: Prices going up

here we go agaaaaiin. heh i know its not the sole reason for the economy goin to crap, but I honestly believe rising fuel prices = crappy economy.

When you look at it like this...

People have job to pay bills insurance car fuel...

Fuel goes money available for bills go down..

People put insurance/bills on credit card...

Fuel goes up....

People stop paying credit card to put food/shelter over head...

fuel goes up

people suddenly cant pay for their houses/mortgages creditcards food bills cars etc etc etc.. economy collappses..

*shrugs* not saying by any means that the price of fuel is the exact reason why the economy is ####ty, but im sure it played a fairly large part.

*once again not an economics major by any means and im sure this is a waaaay over simplified excuse but its what it all boils down to in my book*

you gotta get to work somehow, and if you cant pay the bills with what youre makin then youre not makin enough to quit and look for another job so whatdya do...

Re: Prices going up

yes prices are all over the board...

.44 cents and .33 cents??? in 4 days???
that's a hefty increase

and I guess we've all heard the the stock market gave out something like
18.5 million dollars in bonuses last year to their upper level top salesmen.
not to mention that they lost over 100 million of other peoples money.

and YOUR president Mr. Obama is looking into it, and possibly going to try and put a cap on the bonuses??? so now he can run the people in the stock exchange now??

sorry for the rant.

just my .02

Re: Prices going up

I haven't filled up my truck since January 5th so I haven't seen what prices are here.

Let's not bring up the fact as to why it has been that long since I filled up.

Where in RI were you getting diesel for $2.09?? Just over the Taxachussetts line in Franklin its been $2.45 for about a month until earlier this week it shot up 6 cents. Place across town is now $2.59 and the Mobil station was $2.89. <--- With prices like that I'm not surprised they made record profits. They are always more expensive than any other brand around here and they certainly don't get my business.
