Re: 75-140 Gear Oil

A store would be your best bet I think.

That being said, how much do you want to spend? The BEST off the shelf gear is RedLine synthetic. If you don't want to spend that much Valvoline syn, Delo ESI and Mobil are all good oils that cost less. Delo ESI is the only non-syn oil that I would trust.

I've been using Valvoline. It readily available at most parts stores.

You can always get a full synthetic Motorcraft version of it from Ford too. I don't know much about it though.

Re: 75-140 Gear Oil

Thanks guys I ended up going with a 85-140 that I got from Carquest. Can't remember what kind it was but it was cheap so I got it.

Re: 75-140 Gear Oil

If it wasn't synthetic I wouldn't use it in the rear diff. Cheap is NOT good.

Re: 75-140 Gear Oil

I'm not sure if It was synthetic or not, I don't remember. All I know is the synthetic I had in it before leaked so I had to put a new gasket(bead of silicone) on the cover.

I had Amsoil in there before but I couldn't afford to spend 50 plus bucks for gear oil again.
