what's the difference?

I am sure this has already been discussed before but I have yet to find it, sorry if this is a repeat.

I have been searching for the differences between the various synthetic ATF. I am looking at changing my zf6 and transfer case. I have seen Mercon V/VI (mercon is discontinued?), redline, mobil 1 and atf+4. Sounds like the redline and mobil1 are the favorites, but I have access to valvoline atf+4.

Re: what's the difference?

Don't run ATF+4 in an application that doesn't spec it! It is a highly friction modified ATF and won't perform the same way Dex/Merc (the most generic ATF) will!

It is a mopar fluid designed by them to keep their POS FWD auto trans alive in their POS "cab forward" cars.
