It’s a one peace drive shaft with double carded joint up front. Had tires balanced. I’ve have two dif drive shafts. Original was just a two joint drive shaft. Front axle was rebuilt with moog parts. And it does it when on jack stands.

How were the tie rod ends and draglink on the front axle you installed? Also have you rotated tires to see if the vibration changes some? Or swapped tires completely with a set off a non-vibration truck?

Iíve seen any of the above do some weird stuff.

Carrier mount not used as its a one piece rear D shaft with a double cardigan on the TCase end of shaft.
Tie rods, drag link new.
Had winters on, changed to brand new Toyo... not tires or rims.
Thank you for the suggestions though.

Re: 1997 f250 vibration at 55-60

is your rear pinion at the same angle as the driveshaft with the CV shaft? tapered rear blocks? how in depth did you go when you inspected the rear end? did you pull the carrier and inspect the pinion bearings? for "normal amount" of preload? did the ring gear pattern look good or show any indication of the pinion deflecting?

carrier bearings look good? splines good on the driveshaft with enough engagement on the splines?

just trying to help with some other options.. or things to consider... if the vibration is gone with the driveshaft removed... I would look backwards vs forwards but thats me.. im sure you have thought this out more than you've wanted to.

Ya the rear yoke and drive shaft is inline. But this problem wasn’t here until the swap was compleat. It’s had two different drive shafts and both being different set ups.

Re: 1997 f250 vibration at 55-60

If the noise goes away when the driveshafts are removed..that would make me suspect of the driveshafts themselves or anything downstream they would be attached to... at least thats how i would attack this.

That being said, i would not rule out something internal like the t case- even tho you swapped them out both could have the same issue being 4407ís. If the internal pumps break the main shaft bearing closest to the transmission starves of oil and can literally start disintegrating and short of a slight roaring noise you cant feel any play on the output yokes..you have to tear them down to inspect them.. and it did produce a slight vibration

( this happened to mine and my brothers 4407)

Re: 1997 f250 vibration at 55-60

just halfway read through this saw that you had to drill holes in the auto crossmember to make it fit up thats because the manual uses a different one
that being said is the trans at the right angle now?
this can cause a lot of weird things to happen.

if you have an angle finder this would tell you alot

Re: 1997 f250 vibration at 55-60

It’s the manual crossmember. It came off my parts truck. I did have to drill holes to mount it on the driver side though. Everything seems to be better in line as it should be.
