Re: dont really know

It will only work in a 96-97 truck... For a 94-95, it will not.

Please explain...... I have always been under the impression it would work in all of them. Then again I'm just a lowly 6blow guy

Re: dont really know

94-95 trucks have the antidrain back check valve. 96+ trucks do not, so throwing a SD pump on the earlier OBS trucks will cause drain back issues and therefore you will be filling the res to get the trucks started every morning. One way of fixing this would be to mod the front cover but that's a lot of work when you could just send your factory HPOP out to a builder like Terminator and have them mod it to a 17* (which is what you are trying to accomplish with the SD pump) leaving the check valve...

For the Later year OBS trucks, You can throw in a SD pump and not worry about the drain back issues because they didn't come with the anti drain back check valve.

So, to clarify, 94-95 obs trucks, NO a SD pump will not directly swap. 96+ trucks, YES SD pump is drop in.
