OBS to Excursion Axle/Brakes Swap

This may be dumb.... but I noticed my friends Excursion has rear disk brakes. Would it be possible to use the same setup on our OBS'? I think his is a 97 or 98.

Re: OBS to Excursion Axle/Brakes Swap

It would have to be at least a 99 excursion. You wouldn't be able to use that axle without major work, meaning it's not bolt in. The axle widths and spring perch widths are different. However, many have put SD/Excursion axles in OBS trucks, one being Garrett (weareweird69). It would also require the front axle to be swapped in order to keep axle widths the same.

Re: OBS to Excursion Axle/Brakes Swap

They didnt make an excursion in 97, I think they started making them in 2000?

Yes your can swap axles in, basically you will have to swap a new front axle in there to and run a rsk with SD springs up front. There will prolly be more that will be need to be done.

Re: OBS to Excursion Axle/Brakes Swap

So we could not use the rear disk brakes on our axles?
