Dana 60 Swap spring problem - panic - need help asap Sky Mfg. kit etc..

Hey all,

We're in the middle of a Dana 60 swap into my 97 OBS.

It's going on a Sky Mfg. RS kit.

Kit is mounted as per instructions - my mechanic called me and says the front springs are 5 inches too long.

He says the (new) shackles are flat against the frame and it will move the axle back as well.

My invoice for the springs reads 2C3Z-5310-HA

Everything I read puts this as a V code spring - anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks, Dan

If your useing the stock springs on a OBS the SKY kits works in the factory location. But if your useing V code springs from a Super Duty they are about 4" longer then the OBS. The Sky bracket has to be moved about 3 3/4 inches to the end of the frame.

, pretty sure you have to move the front main bracket forward when using SD springs. Call Cary and ask him, he will know exactly whats up. Google Ct performance Inc, or go to vendor ally and find his contact info.

Swallow the pride, or do it twice.. That said, there is an article in the library at the top on the home page which outlines all the measurments for the bracket being moved forward. here is the link,

Yep.
As stated by others - I sucked it up and called Cary. He was very generous with his time. We moved the brackets forward and it's in the final stages of assembly. Will post pics when done.

I appreciate everyones help - thanks again.

I'll try to keep my newbie panic attacks to a minimum
