where is the clutch slave cylinder at on a 94 f250 4x4

Should of really posted in the gasser section.
but the ZF trans has it on the side of the bell just like the diesel version

I would change the slave cyl and master cyl together as one unit. It takes about 10 minutes

Is this a 460 or 351? the 460 has an external slave cyl and a 351 has an internal

its an internal slave cylinder. im not tearing it back apart. every once in a while the pedal goes to the floor. you can pull it back up with your hand, and if you pump the #### out of it you get the pedal back but its still real soft. at least it feels soft to me but im used to pushing down a tow truck clutch

You don't, if you buy the complete assembly as Brad suggested. It's pre-built, pre-filled, pre-bled. Not sure if they make such an animal for those Mazda (or whatever they are) trannies infernal .... er... internal slave, but if they do, it's a LOT less work going with the pre-built, and unless you've actually seen a leak, you don't really know whether it's the slave that's failing or the master.

If the slave is leaking, I think you also face the possibility that the hydraulic fluid has contaminated the clutch friction surfaces. But as said, you'll get more meaningful (i.e. not just speculative) answers in the non-diesel section, or over on one of the more generic Ford truck sites. That said, those trannies with the internal clutch slave look like a royal PITA.

They offered the ZF behind the 351 but it does have an internal slave. I dont think they offered the mazda trans behind the 351, just the 302 and 300
