Changing to Synthetic Trans Fluid @ 117k Miles?

What is everyone's thoughts on going with synthetic fluid in a trans that has 117k miles? I bought a case of Schaeffer's All Trans as it is time to change the fluid.

I am also considering going with a BTS valve body while I am in there.

I'm not an expert, but if the old fluid doesn't smell burned, I think you'd be ok to change it.

I'd like to know how big of a difference that valve body makes for you when you get it done. Please update and let us/me know if you would.
