Larger gauge wire - UVC Injector harness

Does anyone make a UVC injector harness with larger gauge wires? If not, are the terminals available seperately? I have all the tools to crimp the weatherpack type terminals so I can make a harness if need be. Just need to know what type of terminals are needed.

Re: Larger gauge wire - UVC Injector harness

I thought about this quite a bit but in the end it was just easier to convert to the SD parts. The SD harness has larger gp wires, bigger pins and is just better constructed.

When you converted Peroni, what did you need to change to acheive this?

Re: Larger gauge wire - UVC Injector harness

You will need the valve cover gaskets, uvch harnesses, and pigtails from a superduty setup and the wiring schematic for both obs and sd in order to wire in the pigtails correctly. Easiest way to do it would be to lay out the vc gaskets with the uvch's plugged into them and the pigtails plugged in on the outsides and go one wire at a time. You will need to know how to solder and use shrink tubing unless you just want a crappy mess on your hands. You will also want to remember to stagger the solder joints in order to keep the "bulge" to a minimum. If done correctly you could do it and make it look like it came that way from the factory.

Re: Larger gauge wire - UVC Injector harness

Thanks. I just did mine with OBS VC, pigtails, etc last yr but that sounded like it could be an improvement. Yep, the stagger thing when soldering helped me then.
Thanks

Re: Larger gauge wire - UVC Injector harness

I've done 3 of these so far and found it easier to just get the connector and pins from Alliant rather than the assembled pigtail deal. Most of the OBS wires are long enough to reach so it was just easier to cut the extra length off and crimp on a pin rather than solder every single wire together.

I didn't need a wiring diagram either. It's pretty straight forward to wire things up - and I'm not usually very good with electrics but this was real easy. The OBS harness will have a common ground wire that splits into two, one of these gets cut off for each bank. The remaining high voltage wires get hooked up in same order. Wound up the grounding wire around everything then taped up good with new shielding tape. I also took time on my own truck to eliminate the old fuel bowl sensor and ebpv wires. Shortened up the IPR wiring so it comes out with the ICP wires. It really neatened things up.

Very nice forward thinking there. Would you mind to post up the Alliant part numbers for those who are considering swapping to the sd setup.
