Considering an OBS purchase.

There is a 95 350 crew cab dually for sale locally.
since it is pre OBDII scan port how would I go about getting it "scanned" before I buy it? The price is right but if there is a bunch wrong with it I don't want to buy a money pit.
The owner says the injectors need to be replaced but that is the only thing mechanically wrong with it.

Re: Considering an OBS purchase.

I thought the obd2 was pre 94 or 94.5.

Re: Considering an OBS purchase.

If its a powertsroke and not just the 7.3 turbo it will have the obd2 port on the passenger side.

I don't believe the 94.5 powerstroke's came with them.. I think they still had the underhood OBDI.

Could be wrong though.

Re: Considering an OBS purchase.

well that is good to know. I don't have to do anything crazy to scan it then.
Drop a new set of injectors, HPOP, UVCH's, change the oil, filters and call it good.... drive the wheels off of it!

Re: Considering an OBS purchase.

remember your taking his word that it has bad inj's. I wouldn't worry about scanning it, I'd want to know what condition the motor is actually in.

Re: Considering an OBS purchase.

I am going to do a compression test, check the oil, trans and diff fluids (send off a sample to blackstone)
It runs albeit poorly.

I agree here. You want to know the condition of the motor. It could be something simple... Having access to something like AE would be very valuable here so you could see some actual values.
